  • Played on the Oregon State College team during the late 1950’s.
  • Ranked number 1 in the Pacific Northwest in Men’s Open doubles with brother Ted.
  • Runner-up in the Oregon State Men’s Open singles tournament to Jack Neer in 1968.
  • Runner-up in the Oregon State Men’s Open doubles tournament in 1958 and 1969.
  • Winner of the Portland City Men’s Open singles tournament over Bill Rose in 1966. Runner-up in 1971.
  • Winner of the Portland city Men’s Open doubles tournament in 1961, 1965, 1966. Runner-up in 1960, 1962, 1964, 1967.
  • Winner of the Oregon State Indoor tournament over Jack Neer at the Irvington Club in 1970.
  • Played in the U.S. Nationals at Forest Hills, N.Y. in 1969 — the last year it was on grass.
  • Won the Canadian National 35 singles championships held on the clay courts in Vancouver B.C. in 1970.
  • Won the Canadian National 35 doubles championships on clay in Quebec City in 1971.
  • Ranked number 1 in the Pacific Northwest in both singles and doubles in senior events on several occasions.
  • Jim currently plays in senior tournaments, mostly in doubles.
